Bringing Michigan History to Life!
Give your students a history lesson they don’t know they’re taking by bringing them for a school trip to Mackinac Island and Mackinaw City. Both cities abound with American history and provides an opportunity for students to experience first hand, the lifestyle of a bygone era.
From cannon firings, dressing in soldiers’ clothing, horse-drawn carriage tour, visiting an 18th century fort and fur trade post, the richness of Michigan’s history is presented throughout Mackinac State Historic Parks. Students will see what they learned in the classroom vividly brought to life, at the places where it happened.
Step back in time by visiting Mackinac Island where the only mode of transportation is by horse, bike or foot.
